Ghana return to the World Cup as one of West Africa's most celebrated football nations, the Black Stars having produced some of the most memorable moments in African World Cup history, including a dramatic quarterfinal run in 2010. The current squad is built around players competing across European leagues, combining youth and experience throughout. Jordan Ayew provides leadership and experience while younger players have earned Ghana their return to the global stage. Competing in Group L alongside England and Croatia makes for one of the toughest group draws in the field, but the Black Stars have shown repeatedly that they rise when the occasion demands it.

The Black Stars secured their 2026 place with a 1-0 win over Comoros on 12 October to seal top spot in CAF Group I. This World Cup marks Ghana's fifth appearance on football's biggest stage, having made their debut at Germany 2006.
