Estadio Akron

Guadalajara is Mexico's second largest city and the cultural capital of the state of Jalisco, widely recognized as the birthplace of mariachi, tequila, and the Mexican hat dance. It is also home to one of the most beloved clubs in Mexican soccer history, making it one of the country's most passionate soccer cities.

Estadio Akron will host four matches during World Cup 2026. Home of Club Deportivo Guadalajara — known universally as Chivas — the Akron holds approximately 46,000 fans and is known for a loyal, vocal supporter base. Guadalajara previously hosted matches during both the 1970 and 1986 FIFA World Cups at the historic Estadio Jalisco, and the city's relationship with the world's biggest tournament spans more than 50 years.
